Power Squid
"P.S. I Love You"

Southern Love and Power Squid started working together in October of 2002 to release the second and third CDs from this Austin powerhouse trio that had been playing together since their high school days in the early 90's. One brilliant album was already recorded but had not been pushed with a tour or any publicity except for their constant shows around Texas, the occasional jaunts up to Little Rock and most notably with the track "Profound" gracing Room 710's "Independence" compilation.

Chris, Dave and Jason had the second album recorded locally by a friend, Erik Wofford, but were unsure about pressing it as they might put some of the same songs on their third full-length recording. This third recording "P.S. I Love You" is of note not only because it was going to be on our record label, but because Stuart Sikes really loved the band and engineered the tracks for a price three day-jobbers could swing. If you don't know, Stuart Sikes is the guy who engineered Sonic Youth - "Washing Machine" and The White Stripes - "White Blood Cells".

Talking trailed on into waiting and indecision, but the recording got finished and sounded brilliant. As many of these stories go though, they had a falling out and nothing ever happened with the finished tracks.

Here is the complete recordings for the second and third CD.  Too bad how things happen. Either way, these songs fucking rock.  Why guys?

In loving memory of the Power Squid - I gotta fork!
